What is Group Discussion(G.D.)-
Group discussion is a tool being used nowadays along with personal interviews for the
final selection of the candidate. It is a technique to know the potential of the candidate.It is sort of screening test to know the intelligence and communication skill of thecandidate. It helps in studying the behavior and attitude of the candidate. It is used as a reliable testing method to select the best in competitive perspective. Commonly G.D is being used to ascertain the candidates—
1.Reasoning ability.
2.Ability to work in a team.

4.Creativity and flexibility.
5.Leadership qualities and skill.

Tips for good G.D.
1.The ability to speak fluently and eloquently is the foremost. Without this one cannot
create any impact and mark his presence strongly felt.
2. All candidates should take the responsibility for the smooth conduct of the group
activities. Each member should take the responsibility of leadership though its not
given to them.
3.One should start with open mind i.e, the willingness to take the suggestions and
Ideas from others.One should be flexible. Never take a rigid stand.
4.Always mind your language,it should be simple and straight forward related to the
Topic.
5.Ability to convince effectively is another tool.
6 Good G.D is totally dependent on the knowledge of the topic.A candidate with good
reading habit has more chances of success.
